The Alto Group is a family-run automotive business that has been providing motoring services to Sydneysiders since 1956. AGL helped the Alto Group significantly reduce energy consumption and save around $140,000 in energy costs in their first year, by investing in energy efficiency solutions.
With so many well-lit car showrooms around Sydney, The Alto Group wanted to reduce energy costs and become a more sustainable business.
The Alto Group reduced the amount of energy they draw from the power grid by about 20%. The amount of energy produced by the solar system allowed them to avoid drawing that energy from the power grid, which would have created approximately 700 tonnes per year of CO2 emissions.
In the first year after switching to solar, using LED bulbs and installing Power Factor Correction equipment, they saved almost $140,000 off energy bills. This enabled them to start paying down their initial investment.
