The Alto Group has announced an increase in support for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation for children of the Royal North Shore Hospital. Participants at the 2004 Alto Jaguar Golf Day, and the Alto Group, contributed $800 to the charity that uses all donations received to purchase specialized medical equipment for the treatment of children at the Royal North Shore Hospital.
"We've been involved with Humpty Dumpty for over three years now, and being such an effective, worthwhile charity, I'm delighted to announce that the Alto Group is stepping up its contributions to the foundation," said Anthony Altomonte, managing director, Alto Group.
The Alto Group has been both a participant and supporter of the Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn, a gruelling 426-metre fund-raising run up the ultra-steep Awaba Street. The 2004 Balmoral Burn event raised over $350,000 to purchase much needed medical equipment for the kids at the Royal North Shore Hospital - $100,000 more than hoped for, and an 80 percent increase on previous year's result.
In addition to increasing it overall involvement in Humpty Dumpty fund-raising activities, the Alto Group is also providing the creative resources to develop a Humpty Dumpty money bank.
?"The Humpty Dumpty money bank will be sold to raise donations, and be positioned at all Alto Group outlets frequented by our customers," Mr Altomonte said.
In the past year, Humpty has spent $700,000 buying equipment to give the kids a better chance at life, and all up, has accepted almost $3million in donations.
As well as donating to the Humpty Dumpty foundation, the Alto Group also supports local schools - including Knox Grammar and Riverview - through its Alto BMW dealerships.
