Alto Jaguar joined the automotive world in keen anticipation of the powerful new Jaguar XKR, which this month sees its debut in Australia.
The arrival in the Alto Jaguar showroom of the 306 kilowatt supercharged 4.2 litre V8 powered XKR has set mouths watering.
Inspired, broad, muscular geometry, sleek lines, and a commanding on-road stance make the XKR a pleasure to the eye and a thrill for the keen driver.
Both the coupe and convertible are thoroughly enthralling in terms of aesthetics and performance. The XKR Coupe?s supercharged power plant catapults it from a standing start to 100 km/h in a tick under 5 seconds (claimed) and onto a top speed of 250Km/h. ?Superior chassis construction and rigidity means that the convertible follows closely for the same stretch of road.
Not only does the XKR go but it stops just as well, Jaguar have gone all out and stuffed the huge 20? Cremona wheels with six piston 400mm ventilated disc brakes up front with four pot callipers clamping down on the 350mm rear discs, delivering braking force well in excess of 1g.
Everything about the XKR bespeaks acceleration with class and refinement. The best lightweight materials and leading technologies for engine component construction and chassis manufacture give the new XKR a formidable power to weight ratio and makes it a force to be reckoned with on the highway.
Interior and exterior detailing is of the highest standard, and world class technologies contribute to a smooth, stable, velocity-soaked ride. Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) makes for superb handling.
Jaguar Sequential Shift transmission, which comes with a steering-wheel paddle control option, adds the accuracy and exactitude of computer control to gear selection for performance optimisation.
The XKR has a maximum torque rating that puts many four wheel drives to shame ? in the order of 560 Nm available from 4000Rpm.
Alto Jaguar invites you to join them in a test drive of the Jaguar XKR.
